The Best Spas in Canggu

Gold Dust Spa

When some friends told me they were coming to stay, I knew that we’d spending time in some of the best spas in Canggu Bali.

From hair creme baths, massage, nails, facials & lashes – Canggu has it all and they do it well. Here are my Canggu spa recommendations to get your glow up & your glow on.

Most Aesthetic Spa

Goldust Spa

After browsing a cute shop with resort wear, jewellery and more, you’ll check in at reception for your treatment. You’ll then be led to an enchanting waiting area with flowers,  statues & the smell of incense. Here you will wait for your therapist to greet you.

This spa feels luxurious – with dim lighting, chandeliers & rattan bags for you to carry your belongings. Next, you’ll be led to the treatment room where you can change into the signature Gold Dust sarong.

My favourite treatment here is the Radiance Facial. It’s a luxuriously long 90 minute facial. This treatment involves active serums, foot & shoulder massage, steam & extractions as well as face massage & ice therapy. Oh, and oodles of stress free relaxation.

Side Note :

The Radiance Facial isn’t focussed on particular skincare brands or products. So if you’re choosey about that – this may not be the facial for you.

Gold Dust also has a fun options for groups, hens parties and girls trips with their signature Spa Party. Celebrate your vacay in style with champagne, artisanal grazing platters, and exquisite high teas.

Finally, if you want a simple foot or shoulder massage you can go as a group of up to eight. Sip on ginger tea together as you overlook the pool and let the friendly therapists ease your worries away.

Hours : 9am – 9pm

Top spas in Canggu

Broadest Range

Amo Spa

Amo is a stylish spa that offers almost everything you need, including a medi-spa & biohacking.

The medispa has two sections. One section is for the skin on your face with treatments such as Botox, fillers & photdynamic light therapy. The other is for your body where you may choose treatments to target cellulite, permanent hair removal, even vaginal rejuvenation.

Of course there is the one stop shop for all your usual pamper treatments such as nails, facials & waxing. They also do hair treatments including cuts & colours. Intravenous beauty & health treatments will give a boost of vitamin c & collagen directly to your veins. You can even get your makeup done before a night out on the town.

What sets Amo apart even more is their bathhouse, which has ice plunges, saunas, jacuzzi and more. There is also a cafe & shop, meaning you could spend the entire day here.

Entry to the Bathhouse is 350k / $35 nzd and you get access to the following :

  • jacuzzi
  • steam room
  • Swedish sauna (dry heat)
  • Turkish sauna (even hotter dry heat)
  • two ice plunge pools
  • ice barrell (even colder)

I have enjoyed a variety of treatments here including a rainy afternoon at the bathhouse. Never once have I left without 100% satisfaction.

Hours (including bathhouse) : 8am – 10pm.

Best Nail Treatment

Spa Anwa

Venture to the quaint neighbourhood of Umalas for some of the best nail treatments in Canggu. It will be worth it. Spa Anwa has modern decor, highly trained therapists, a cafe & hairdressers.

Nails aren’t something to go cheap on. Do so and risk infections, butchered cuticles, fingernails chopped to the quick or filed down to smitherines. Seriously, I’ve encountered all of the above, just don’t do it. Having said that, Anwa isn’t pricey, it’s just not ‘cheap’ if you know what I mean.

Best therapist : Yuta.

Hours : 10am – 6pm.

Most Affordable Massage in Canggu

Nature’s Spa

If you want a no frills massage that’s good, Nature’s Spa is the place to go. The massage therapists are fabulously friendly too.

You can venture to their Pererenan location which is your stock standard Bali spa with beds separated by curtains. What’s not stock standard, is the quality. Not only have I never had a mediocre massage here, the relaxing music & soft voices allow me to drift into my own personal state of bliss. Cost : 160k / $16 nzd

They also come to your villa, which means you can enjoy the luxurious experience of a fancy spa without leaving home. They don’t have mobile massage tables though. If your villa doesn’t supply tables you can lay on your bed or sit on the couch. Which is just as nice. Cost : 200k / $20 nzd

Side Note :

It’s best to book a day in advance as they are popular. Book via WhatsApp +6281236449830

Hours : 9am – 8.30pm

Best Hair Creme Bath

Beach House by Tonic

Beach House by Tonic is easily one of the best spas in Canggu. Upon arrival you will enter into a chic reception area where you’ll receive a warm greeting. Sit down and relax as you enjoy your welcome drink & wait for your therapist.

For this blog post, I had booked the hair creme bath and boy was I glad that I did. I was led to a private room and given a robe to change into. After a shampoo, rinse & towel dry I was offered several different hair masks which I could choose by smell. I chose vanilla. The therapist then parted my hair to the scalp and applied the cooling mask. She massaged it in with tension melting pressure along the length of the hair part. This was repeated until the mask had been applied all over and then wrapped my head in a warm towel.

As I willed myself to refrain from sliding off the chair and onto the ground in bliss, she kneaded my shoulders, allowing the mask to penetrate my hair.

This is a 60 minute treatment that involves lots of head, shoulder & neck massage. Hair wash, mask and blow dry. It does not involve hair styling.
